Come on In, But Take Your Shoes Off

Kelly over at Kelly's Korner is hosting Show Us Where You Live Friday. This Friday I'm inviting y'all into my kitchen. But first, since I do live with grizzly bears, and I am OCD, you have to take off your shoes. Just kidding. I do let my friends leave theirs on.
Please come on in. And make yourselves at home.
Let's grab a cup of coffee to sip on while we take the tour. This part of my kitchen is just about the first thing I see each day. I don't do much else before I have my first cup of coffee. Are y'all like that with coffee or diet coke or maybe a Red Bull???
Here's my stovetop where my cooking "magic" occurs. I decided to display my great-grandmother's sifter. It was just too pretty to keep in the cabinet.
This is the view from the kitchen sink into the living room (obviously, right?). I absolutely love the way the kitchen opens directly into the living room. I will admit at times I would like a little seclusion in the kitchen. Sometimes if I'm having people over, I would like to have a little privacy while I'm trying to salvage my dinner.
This little picture was handmade by one of my mother-in-law's best friends and given to Jeff and me as a wedding gift. It has been hanging on our kitchen wall for 22 years. In case you can't read it, it says, "A Kiss A Day Keeps the Meanies Away." And it has little Hershey Kisses. Very special to me.
And this one is a little saying that is a copy written in my grandmother's handwriting. It was something, I think, found in an old cookbook of hers. My auntie made copies for everyone and I framed mine. Click on it and read it. It's very sweet.
This is the kitchen table where we eat our nightly homecooked meals. HA HA! Seriously though, y'all, when my kids were younger I did cook a lot more. And we have always eaten at the table. There's the OCD again. If it's Jeff and me eating alone, we might eat at the counter or maybe in the living room. But the boys are not allowed to eat anywhere except the kitchen. Even if they are almost 21 and almost 17. They're still slobs. Sweet and I love 'em, but slobs.
I wish you didn't have to leave so soon. I'd love to have you stay and visit awhile longer. Maybe you can come again. You're welcome anytime. Let me know you came so I can return the visit. Maybe I can have coffee at your place next time.
Till tomorrow, TGoodnessIF!!

I ALWAYS feel welcome at your house even when I am touring on-line! Love you and have a great day! I'll have to do my tour of my home tomorrow. Two posts in one day isn't on my to-do list:)

I love the yellow. Wish I could get people to obey the "take your shoes off" rule.

Oh, I would love to sit and have a cup of coffee with you in your cozy house. That was fun, as it makes me feel like I know you just a little better. Being invited into someones home is a warm gesture. Next time, I'll bring scones.
