Small Things With Great Love

Today I decided to do something nice for someone in need. It just so happens that the people in need were my parents. My dad has had pneumonia and still can't get around much because of his foot. He hasn't had much appetite and I know it drives my mom crazy trying to think of something he might eat for supper.

On the way to Lowe's to get the stuff to make them a little fall yard decoration, I had to stop for some energy. If you have a chance, get a slice of Starbucks pumpkin bread. It is seriously the best I've ever had. It's seasonal and they are sold out of it most times I go, but today I was lucky.

And, of course, I had to get an iced pumpkin latte to go with it. Wow, was that a great combo!

And it was a good thing, too, because this is what I faced as I got on the expressway.

It was bumper to bumper. I think I sat in traffic over 30 minutes. It was okay, though. I sipped my latte and nibbled (inhaled) my pumpkin bread.

I got to Lowes and parked Cam's truck. Can you tell I don't drive a truck often? Isn't that a pitiful parking job?

I went in to buy a bale of wheat straw, a pumpkin, some flowers and a scarecrow. They had everything EXCEPT the scarecrow. However, they did have lots and lots of Christmas stuff.

Love all the Snoopy stuff.

So after Lowes, I went to Chick-fil-A to get them something for supper. I picked up a peach milkshake for my daddy and made one more stop to get the scarecrows.

When I got to their house to make the yard thingy, I was going to put it near the entrance to their carport. Daddy wanted it in front of his big window so they could see it from inside.

Their front yard is seriously beautiful right now. The leaves on the trees are so pretty. I'm thankful they have such a pretty yard and a nice big window to see all the beauty from. Daddy said they don't have to go to the mountains to see pretty trees. He's right.

Here's the little display I made them.

He was so proud of it! He said my mom was going to be tickled over it. I knew that meant that he was tickled, too. My heart was so happy when I left. It was a perfect afternoon.

We can do no great things, only small things with great love. ~Mother Teresa

Till next time...

Oh my Kelly> You never cease to amaze me with all your kind deeds you do. You should be very proud of yourself for all you do for others. I wish I could be more like you. You always put a smile on my face with your posts. Sometimes you put a tear in my eye but I love hearing all about the life of a girl named Kelly Kelly.
