Pleasant Thoughts

Happy 22nd Anniversary, Jeff! I love ya!
The tomatoes are coming in fast and furious! It's impossible to eat them quick enough before a new day's batch comes in.

These are pictures of the first tomato sandwich I made from the tomatoes Jeff grew.
As you can see, the first tomatoes off the vine aren't usually the prettiest ones.

But when you slice them up, looks no longer matter. This is my very favorite tomato. It's called the Cherokee Purple. It has all the elements of a perfect tomato. Not normally a big mayonnaise fan, I must have it on my tomato sandwiches. No Miracle Whip for this gal.
Salt and lots of pepper make it even better.
Slather on the mayonnaise. Not too heavy, just right.
Best lunch ever!"It's difficult to think of anything but pleasant thoughts while eating a homegrown tomato."
~Lewis Grizzard~

Till tomorrow, enjoy your Saturday!

Yummy yummy in my tummy! That lunch had my name all over it! I LOVE tomatoes. I am a spoiled rotten Howell girl and only eat homegrown, not from a fruitstand that say they are homegrown but REAL homegrown:) Yours look delicious! I washed the ones Leon brought me and the ones I have from Nanny and I have a counterfull of the beauties including the Marshall ones! When they first start arriving, I ration them to my honey because he eats them like an apple. He says he knows when someone brought homegrown ones because the plate of tomatoes is no longer just beside him but in the MIDDLE of the table:) Love you and enjoy you anniversary whatever you decide to do. P.S. Cynthia couldn't get connected so she is having blog withdrawals. I told her to take the weekend off and catch up when she gets back!

Have a great 22nd anniversary!! We will celebrate our 22nd the end of February. I think you were the one that I talked to about Tybee Island. Well, family vetoed that idea for this year, but we are going to Myrtle Beach, SC and the spending a day in Charleston. We've never been to either place before.

Take Care
