Work, A Virus, A Headache , Big Groceries & 4th of July

That was my day yesterday. I had planned to blog early yesterday morning, but I've had terrible insomnia again lately. I'm taking something to help me sleep, but unfortunately, it also makes me not want to get up in the morning. I hope this will pass soon. It's not fun.

After I nearly crawled to the shower, I got ready to go to a depo. It was pretty short and I was so glad. I had a lot to do. We had absolutely NOTHING in our house to eat or drink. My kids have eaten all of Brenda's soup, so it was a MUST that I go to the grocery store. That is a job that I despise with every breath of my being. I hate everything about it. Here is a little list of the reasons I hate going to the grocery store:

1. I have a MAJOR fear of someone running over the back of my heels with their buggy. So I'm trying to look forward with my buggy, look at the groceries on the shelf and look behind me to make sure no ones mowing me over with their buggy.

2. I'm of the opinion that stop signs at the end of each aisle is not a bad idea. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I nearly had three or four head-on collisions with other shoppers yesterday. Come on people, slow down.

3. How many times must I handle the items I'm purchasing? Once off the shelf. Twice out of the cart for the cashier. Three in the car. Four in the house. Five in the pantry, fridge or freezer. I think that's too much togetherness. Thankfully, yesterday Jeff was home to unload and put them away. If he hadn't been, I'm pretty sure they'd still be in my car.

While at the grocery store and dealing with the above-mentioned phobias, I began to develop a huge headache. I came home, took Excedrin Migraine and took a big fat nap, which is also something I haven't been able to do while I'm having this sleep problem. My mind won't stop long enough for me to even take a nap. Yesterday was different though. I napped for over an hour. Woke up, still had a headache.

Our laptop has a virus. It's one that's really sneaky and hard to remove. We had a football coach friend of Jeff's over yesterday to look at it. He works on computers and was here for about an hour or so. He couldn't get it all because it kept hiding in places. I don't understand why people get their jollies creating viruses for computers. Mean people suck -- I mean stink.

We're having the Second Annual Kimball 4th of July swim party at my house tomorrow. I've got tons and tons to do to get ready for it. To ice the cake, Jeff's sick. He's had the same cough that Cam had, but he just can't seem to get rid of it. He's had a relapse and is almost worse than ever. He's going to the doctor today at 2 o'clock. He never goes to the doctor, but this has kicked his bootie.

Don't know exactly where to start with everything I've got to do today. Think I'll just go on the front porch and drink my coffee and make a list. What I'd rather do is grab a float and float the day away in the pool. I've still got a twinge of that nasty headache.

Richard, the son-in-law of my Auntie Theresa, is doing much better and may go home sometime over the weekend. Thank you all so much for your prayers.

I'll be back on Monday and have lots of pictures of the Kimball Pool Party. Till Monday, enjoy this long 4th of July weekend, enjoy Americana at its finest. And most of all, LLL.

I HATE grocery shopping, too, and never understand people that enjoy it. The only good part is then you have food in your house and don't have to listen to your family griping that you don't. I'm sorry about your headache, and I'm a little confused as to what's going on with the insomnia, headaches, etc. You need to call our favorite doctor man/woman in previous life. Love you and looking forward to tomorrow :0)

I don't mind grocery shopping as long as I am ALONE and not screaming at 2 kids the whole time or constantly saying "no, we're not getting that."

Well, I seldom do a really big grocery shopping trip because I like to just drop in for a few days worth of stuff. Don't like frozen meat:) Insomnia stinks as does the headache thingy. I hope all of this gets better before you have to entertain tomorrow. Love you and thanks for the prayers for Richard.

OK Miss. This is your bossy neighbor/blog friend Laura.
1. Check your hormones and your thyroid.
2. Don't sign on for any new, extra projects.
3. Get in the pool and float.
4. Just do the next right thing.

I am so glad Richard is going better.

Where we live, the grocery stores will delivery an internet order of groceries for $6.95. The best part? The delivery man carries it all inside my house and sits it down in front of the the fridge! I love it! But, when I do go to the store with the kids, my 4 y.o. loves to push the preschool sized cart. It hurts like crazy when he runs into my heels. We go when it isn't very crowded or otherwise he couldn't push that little cart without causing trouble.

I am sure you will have a wonderful party. Happy Fourth!

My feelings are exactly like your about grocery shopping! I would rather have a pap smear with a rattlesnake!

Your day sounds like my day. What a lot of work to have a little fun!

Of course a headache has to be thrown in.

I too hate grocery shopping. I had my groceries delivered for a time, but now I am saving my pennies.
