Rainy Days and Mondays

Always get me down. As the Carpenters song goes, so I go. Mondays aren't my favorite day of the week. Add rain to the mix and you've got basic ingredients for a yucky day. Add to that a translator depo for me to cover this afternoon and now you've really got what you need for a crappy day.

Lesson learned for Mother's Day. Don't try to go out to eat dinner. Everywhere we tried to go was packed. Outback had a 100 minute wait. Since when do people refer to wait time in such a way? I've always known it like an hour and forty minutes, an hour and a half, etc. I guess they think it sounds better to say 100 minutes. Maybe they think people won't actually do the math. Whatever. We ended up eating Mexican at a place in Stockbridge. I'm only loyal to LaParilla for Mexican food, but it was good. The whole idea behind going out to eat was so that none of us moms had to cook. Next year I think we'll scrap that idea and cook anyway.

My grizzly boys were very sweet and gave me a beautiful windchime and bird feeder with a huge bag of seed. Hopefully, it will attract some song birds and not some ugly old crows. Ross also installed my new microwave, which by the way, I do not like. It just seems smaller, even though supposedly it's not. I think the lady who sold it to us was mistaken. It looks about the size you would use in a college dorm room. Oh, well, it's not like I cook in it or anything. I guess it'll do. And I got the best cards ever from both of them. I was disappointed they didn't get up and go to church with me though. I think they knew I was even though I never told them.

Even my Sugar gave me a sweet Mother's Day card that said it had something I could use in the bedroom. What it had was two cotton balls to muffle out his snoring. Now, that's a useful card! He also gave me $30 itunes cards. Yeah, baby! I need some songs, girls! Leigh, if you happen to read this, help me out here. I'm going to the beach next week and I've got all of Jimmy Buffet and all of Kenny Chesney. I need some more good beach music. Somebody -- anybody, please help! Suz made me an awesome playlist last time. I loaded it and played it to death.

One of my favorite parts of the day was when I walked in the door at my mom's Eli said Happy Mother's Day, Kelly. Y'all he's only five. He is so beyond precious to me. I just want to snuggle him and kiss him and eat him up. He sat beside Jeff at the restaurant and Jeff kept having to clean the cheese dip off of him. It was really quite funny. He'd dip his chip. Cheese would drip down his arm. Jeff would clean it up. It got to the point that after Eli would dip his chip, he'd look over to Jeff like, what are you waiting on, don't you see this cheese on my arm.

Hope y'all have a good Monday. Maybe it's not raining where you are. Till tomorrow, live, love, laugh!

Yes, any Monday after such a great weekend would be yuck... but add in a thunderstorm and double-yuck. I am sorry you had a problem with eating out:( I don't mind waiting to eat but my honey will drive around as long as the wait is to find someone with a short wait. Love you and hope your day turned out great!

Oh too bad it is sunny sunny sunny here. Sorry. ha ha ha

I am happy you found a place to eat. I learned that lesson a long time ago. Don't go out on Valentine's Day either.

It's actually sunny this afternoon... but a bit windy so the ferry isn't running! Papa gets off in an hour and a half and may not be able to get home! Pray God calms the seas!
