Romance Was In the Air

We spent Friday afternoon and evening finishing up the sod and Mickey Mouse pressure washer and I had a date on the sidewalk. He's got some issues. There are parts on him that just don't work like they're supposed to. For example, the big yellow button in the picture below is supposed to hold cause the trigger to stay pushed so that you don't have to kill your hand to push it. Well, his doesn't work. My hands were so sore after washing the pool area. I knew there was a way around that if I just thought about it. I am, as I so often say, my father's daughter. So here's what I came up with. And whoa, mama, did it ever work. Tie wraps are good for so many things aren't they? I keep them handy in the garage closet.

And because the sidewalk is long and because the concrete is so hard and again, my feet and back just ached after washing the pool. . . voila. . . ingenuity again. I just sat on the cart and let Mickey do all the work. Don't worry, girls, he's very gentle. He wouldn't hurt a fly. And he really works better at close range. The cart idea was magnificent, if I do say so myself.
Everything was going great. Jeff was laying the sod. Mickey had me hypnotized by the rhythm of the water splashing the cement. The way it was coming so clean had me in heaven. And then it happened. I wanted to stop washing to snap a picture of Jeff, you know, for old-time sake. But if he sees me, he always moves or makes a face or something to screw my picture up. So I had to be inconspicuous. Or try to be. Well. . . I couldn't just turn off Mickey. He's loud and that would have told Jeff something was up. I couldn't let go of the trigger, remember it's rigged now. So I set the hose down and made the picture real quick.
In the meantime, that hose went berserk. It was like a coiled snake spinning around with pressurized water coming out the end. I had my camera around my neck and I didn't want it to get wet. I didn't want to get more soaked. And I surely couldn't scream because I didn't want to hear Jeff say how dumb it was for me to lay the stupid hose down in the first place. So. . . I just stood way, way, back and let him go. And I thought he'd never stop. He sprayed the yard, the driveway, the shrubs, me and the roof. And Jeff never knew a thing!
He finally came to rest wrapped around a shrub. I picked it up and went on about my work. Anyway, unless the urge to wash something else strikes me, which it very well may, I think my pressure washing for spring '09 is finally done. I finished the sidewalk about 9:30 last night. I realized as it was coming white as snow that I should've done it last fall. I think it would've cheered me up during those cold, rainy days we had over the winter to have seen the rain falling on a nice, clean sidewalk rather than a dirty, black one. Oh, well, add another thing to my fall to do list. Plant bulbs and wash sidewalk.

No big plans for the day. Jeff's got a game at 2 o'clock. Then we're going to LaParilla. First, though, we're going to PetSmart. Smokey, our 15-year-old cat, has been pooping in my flower bed. Or rather, should I say, I've got flowers planted in her bathroom? Anyway, one of us is going to have to make some changes. Since I pay the house note, it's gonna have to be that sweet old dear of a cat. I hope they make something to deter her from pooping there. Do y'all know of anything natural that I can use? Surely there's something.

Do y'all ever read any of the blogs in my sidebar? There's one that I love to read called
Tip Junkie. One day this week, she had a tip from another blogger, Katie's Nesting Spot that I thought was so handy. It was a handmade password organizer to keep by your computer. You know, for those pesky passwords you have to keep up with for various websites. They say you're not supposed to use the same one. You do know that, right? I'm gonna make myself one this week. I think I'll make two and give one away. What do y'all think about that? If you want to win, just leave me a comment on this post and I'll draw from all the names on -- what do you think -- Monday? Yeah, Monday. I'll draw Monday. Go check Katie's Nesting Spot and see how cute hers was. Hopefully, mine will be at least as cute as hers.
Hope you enjoy your Saturday. Till tomorrow, live, love, laugh!

Laughing my head off at you! My honey gets annoyed too with all the photos! You are so entertaining, I could just see that hose squirting all over the place. Only because it has happened more than once to me:) What I usually do is throw down the hose and of course it hits right on the trigger and squirts me in the face. Don't like being squirted in the face.
Love you mucho and have a great Saturday!!!!!

What an adventure!!! So funny!

I have been catching up on your posts. Sorry, I have had the craziest week this week. Your home is so lovely. And I love yoplait Thick and Creamy yogurt. I have one everyday - it's the highlight of my day (I know that is so lame). And I tried that cherry flavor one. It's good. My favorites are the lemon, orange and lime. YUM!

Have a super weekend!
