A Winner & Hodgepodge

My new friend Laura over at White Spray Paint was the winner of my Password Keeper. Congrats Laura. Y'all stop by and pay her a visit. Read how she chose the title of her blog, White Spray Paint. It's a charming story. I think the Password Keeper I made turned out cute. I've got mine hanging by my computer and I've already got it filled with passwords. Believe it or not, I have at least a dozen. Laura,
e-mail me your address and I'll send you your Password Keeper.

Jeff and I made the Chicken and Broccoli Rice Casserole I told y'all about yesterday for supper last night and it was really, really good. I think he wanted to help me with it for fear I might screw it up and it sounded so good he didn't want that to happen!
That man loves him some chicken and rice. Throw some cheese on top of it and he's putty in my hands! The best part of the casserole to me was using rotisserie chicken instead of cooking my own. Lately, when I cook any sort of meat, I just can't eat it. It's a wacko mental thing, but it totally grosses me out. The rotisserie chicken was delicious and it gave it so much flavor. I got it the recipe from The Cookbook Junkie, which is one of the blogs I follow. I only changed the chicken. And BTW, the brown things that you see in the picture that look like that awful chipped beef stuff or pepperonis are neither of those. They are, in fact, mushrooms. And they were yummy!

Remember about a month ago when the house down the street from me burned down? Well, I finally found out what happened. The cruise control overheated and ignited the brake fluid and caused the car to catch fire in her garage. I'm guessing that was the explosion I heard. OMGosh! She drove a late '90 Ford Expedition. If any of you drive one, you might check and see if there are any recalls on the cruise control. The next morning after the fire, when I told Ross about it, he suggested it was probably her car that started it. He knew that there had been similar situations involving those same cars. Just a little public service announcement.

Gonna have lunch today with my family peeps. We're celebrating the birthday of my very special Auntie Theresa. I love to get together with my aunts. They're so much fun. My mom will be there, too, but Suz and Crystal won't be able to make it. Suz is registering her baby boy Eli for kindergarten. ~Tears.~ And Crystal will be working. Ethan came in 4th place in the 3rd grade math bowl at his school yesterday. He called me last night to tell me about it. I had told him Tuesday night if he got nervous just to picture the audience in their underwear, you know, like Marcia did when she was having such a hard time passing her driving test on that great Brady Bunch episode. When I asked him if he pictured everyone in their underwear, he said no, he didn't get that nervous. HA! I guess he took me at my word.

Hope everyone has a good day. We're almost at the end of another week. Where is the time going and why is it going so fast?

Till tomorrow.
