Easter Stuff

It's Friday and my mind's still at the beach, so here's some random Easter thoughts for ya.

Hand Painted Eggs
Buy your eggs in the styrofoam egg cartons. Save the cartons. In the cartons pour a different color of food coloring into each egg cup. With cotton balls , Q-Tips and pieces of sponge have the children decorate each egg. Then set them aside to dry. You will end up with unique Easter Eggs.
Here is a picture of some eggs I've been working on for this year.

Ha! Gotcha, didn't I? Can you imagine painting eggs like this? Mine look more like this.
And are usually not quite done because, after 22 years of marriage, I still haven't mastered the art of boiling an egg.

The Easter Bunny Legend
The Easter Bunny Legend is said to have originated in Germany. Since rabbits are famous for their reproductive abilities, they have become symbols of fertility and thus associated with Spring and Easter. German children are told the eggs they hunt at Easter are laid by the Easter Bunny himself. In America he is depicted walking upright and carrying a basket with the eggs in it.
Seems a little farfetched even for little kids, but whatever. We tell them the Easter Bunny came and they believe it. When my kids were little, they'd even tell me what they wanted the Easter Bunny to bring them as if he were Santa's cousin or something.
Okay, gotta run.
Till tomorrow. Happy Good Friday everyone.

My kids still tell me what they want the Easter Bunny to bring!!! I love easter...I love to watch the little ones hunt the eggs that are just scattered out in the yard and for the fun of being with family and friends!!! Lots of love!!!

I know! I have to remind my kids that you don't get the loot you get at Christmas (which seems like yesterday, btw).
I have a hard time keeping a straight face talking about the Easter Bunny. I mean seriously, a bunny hops into your house and leaves candy.. a do what?
I don't even try with Eli or we'll be in deep discussion for hours.
Have a great depo. Getting back in the groove is such sweet sorrow :0)
