Do You Hear What I Hear

Yesterday's visit to the endodontist went surprisingly well. Fortunately, most of the nerves in my tooth were dead, so they didn't even have to give me a Novocaine shot to do the root canal. Can you even believe that? If someone had told me that one day in my 40s I'd have dental work done without Novocaine, I'd have sworn they were nuts. The pain was actually coming from the infection and not the tooth. It's sore today, but thankfully, I'm going to be just fine.

Being totally coherent throughout the entire process set my mind to thinking about annoying sounds -- or rather I should say -- horrible noises. Since I don't really have any great projects going on to share with y'all and I haven't cooked anything fabulous lately, I thought I'd just fill y'all in on a few of the sounds that annoy me the most.

No surprise here. Other than this being my number 1 Most Annoying Sound, the rest are in no particular order. But this one, I soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo HATE!
How about this one? Do you like to hear a whining kid? Or even worse yet a whining adult?
And this one is pretty bad too. In fact, I wonder if there are any statistics out there of how many heart attacks have been caused by these horrible yet terribly necessary little gizmos.
And, OMGosh, here's another one that I CANNOT stand. The only thing more impatient than me is the dinging thing in my car that tells me to buckle my darn seatbelt. I'm thinking, give me time, give me time. I barely get in, get situated and that stinking thing starts dinging. LOUD!!!!

What about when you're on your computer and you go to a site or something and it aborts. Don't you just love that GONG sound you get? Especially, if your speaker is up because you've been listening to something pleasant just before that happened. Nice.
I deal with this every day. Whether it's my own or someone else's, I hate to hear it. What I hate most about hearing Bandit bark is that she is normally so quiet and clear out of the blue she'll see something outside and go crazy barking. It'll almost make me jump out of my skin.
Everyone who knows me knows that I hate the phone. I don't like to talk on the phone. But more than that, I absolutely cannot stand to hear the phone ring. For some reason, it just ticks me off. That's so stupid, I know. But it really does. It makes me mad. I'm not mean to the person on the other end, but I do huff and puff when I have to go and find the stupid cordless phone, which is never on the base like it's supposed to be. Usually because I haven't put it back.
And why, even if you buy a brand-new car, do you have to deal with squeaky brakes? That makes me feel like my car is a piece of junk and I need new brakes. I remember right after we got the G-6, the brakes started squeaking. When I took it in, they told me that the brakes in that particular car usually did squeak. Hmmmm. Wonder why the salesman didn't use that as a selling point? BECAUSE WHO WANTS TO HEAR SQUEAKING BRAKES?
Even though I'm very thankful for my hearing, I could go on and on with the list of things I don't like to hear. I'll stop (no pun intended with the brakes) here. What are some things that you hate to hear?

I've got a very busy day today, tons and tons of work to do here at home. It's so hard to stay caught up.

Till tomorrow, may you only hear happy sounds!

Oh... let me add honking horns to that list. Drives me crazy! When my son was working in Korea everyone honks horns in traffic constantly! I could hear it on the phone and he said it is all the time. I would go insane!

Hmmm.. this may take a bit. I have lots of sounds I hate (and lots I love).
BTW, we get this from our daddy. He's got sensitive doll ears, too.
All those you mentioned, plus these:
* Commercials so loud and obnoxious it makes you jump out of your skin.
* The buzz my dryer makes when it finishes.
* MY KIDS FIGHTING!! The worst!
* Constant coughing or sniffing.
* The rattle the DVD player in my car makes, even though we've had it replaced twice.
* My squeaky bedroom door that needs some WD40.
* My own voice when I'm hollering for a family member and I can't find them and/or they don't hear me. ANNOYING!
P.S. I have to use bullet points when I'm making lists. It makes me feel so good.

Ok, First of all I am glad that you came thru the procedure OK. Now noises, how can I say this politely... poots? Cindy screams pretty loud on tiny rides at Six Flags:) Suzanne, I keep the dryer buzzer off on mine because I don't like that either. Smoke alarm when you just burned a little something in the oven. I am not really fond of the phone ringing either. So... That is a few of the noises I don't like! Love you and hope your mouth is feeling better!
