Four-Year-Old's Handprint

Fingerprints. Sometimes you get discouraged because I am so small and always leave my fingerprints on furniture and walls. But everyday I'm growing. I'll be grown up someday and all those tiny handrpints will surely fade away. So here's my four-year handprint just so you can recall exactly how my fingers looked when I was very small.

Most of us moms know that poem. We've received it at one time or another. I remember very well getting that picture from Cam Christmas 1996. I also remember shedding more than one tear at the thought of losing his tiny handprints on the furniture and walls. But let me tell you, girls, if I knew then what I know now, I would have saved those tears for something else entirely.

I have just spent the better part of my morning cleaning up much larger 16-year-old handprints from furniture, walls, countertops, cabinet doors, TV screens, computer screens and bathroom areas (if ya know what I mean).

Nostalgia my foot. Maybe when he's 50 and I'm in the nursing home. Then bring me this fingerprint picture and we'll talk about it again. Right now I'm going to put a heating pad on my aching back. Cleaning handprints is hard work.

Cute little hands make big messes and big hands make bigger messes. I love the little poem and it makes me cry to read it and think how quick those little hands get big. Sounds like you should reward yourself for all this cleaning you are doing:) When is the pool liner getting installed? Can't wait to see it. It is a bright sunshiny day... but I still have some snow. Brenda's test went fine but no results yet. Love to all!

Oh Kelly Kelly, where is my sentimental sister? Those little hands are precious! Just remember those chubby little cheeks that went along with them. Oh and remember this, "Go Josus, Go Josus, Go Josus"!!! How sweet they were.....yes, I said were!
Any bloggers out there have any suggestions for punishment for a 14 yr old that brought home two F's on his report card?????

I remember that poem/saying. It does bring a tear to the eye --JUST as does the cleaning after teenagers does. that was funny. just be glad they are fingerprints...my boys (had 4) would get mad and punch holes in the walls --------little monsters. But they are all grown with kids of their own and ya know what, I miss the holes in the walls. (maybe I have holes in my head, yup I think that's it)
thanks for the visit to my blog, come again Nikkicrumpet is ready to string me up for stealing her photo (tee, hee)
