I don't have to go out for work today. Yippee. I think I may stay in my PJs all day. I'm gonna take my laptop in the living room, get cozy with my favorite Snoopy blanket and HOPEFULLY, get lots of work done. Put it this way, I MUST get lots of work done. I've got 12 jobs sitting here staring at me. One thing you don't want as a court reporter is someone calling looking for their transcript. Big no-no.
My big boys, as Suz so cleverly named them, are better. Well, actually Cam is better. Ross's asthma has kicked into full gear. He's stubborn and he needs to go to the doctor, but of course he says he doesn't have time for that "crap". I want to take him by the hand and take him, but that might be a little difficult and I might get hurt in the process, so I guess we'll wait it out. Pray for him folks. He hates to get sick. He hates to be slowed down by anything.
Oh, yeah, I told y'all the wrong potatoes to buy when you're making the Simply Parmesan Potatoes. They make these homestyle slices that are thinner than the red potato wedges. That's the ones that you use. You can use the other ones, too, but I like the thinner ones best. They get crispier.
So I think I'm going to take Cam and a friend to Panama City Beach for Spring Break. Maybe. He wants to go, but I'm not sure HE wants ME to go. I think he would rather go with a friend. Why is it that after about the fourth or fifth grade your kids act like you have two heads and don't want you around? Kids. Can't live with them, can't live without them.
I started a reading new book last night. I think it's gonna be "the one" for me. I can't wait to get back into it. I haven't been much into reading lately, even after I got my glasses. This book, I do believe, is going to bring me out of my reading funk. I just finished a book called Emma and Me. It was a good book, but somewhat confusing and left me feeling a little blue. I'm excited about this new book. Oh, and it's bigger than the little paperbacks, so the words are bigger. I think I'm going to start treating myself to only hardbacks or the bigger paperbacks. I figure that's the least I can do, because hey, I deserve it.
The weeds in my yard are starting to green up. The real grass is still dormant. Man, do we have a lot of weeds! The next warm weekend we have, we are going to have a Kelly Family Workday and get this place tidied up. I want to do a lot of pressure washing, you know, the sidewalk, around the pool and the driveway. Spring's almost here, so we've got to be looking pretty. I think I'm (or maybe Jeff and me) are going to start cleaning the house and put the money we'd be paying the cleaning lady in an envelope and use it for plants and flowers.
How boring was this post? I told y'all I would ramble. These are the thoughts in my head this morning, so that's what I wanted to share.
Thanks again for your prayers. Keep 'em up. I don't want to go back to that dark place ever again!

Thursday Ramblings x 2
Glad you are feeling better and sleeping better. I hope both big boys continue to feel better too. Kids do tend to ignore us when they get a little older. When I take Autumn to a basketball game she sits with her friends and I make a friend in the stands so I won't have to sit alone. One day she will be driving me to the Mall when I can't drive anymore... she promises.
Well... I realize this is your blog, but I appreciate you letting me talk about MY day on YOUR blog:)
I had to have routine bloodwork this morning at 9:15. No food or drink after midnight, NO COFFEE:( I have coffee first thing EVERY DAY before I do anything. Well, you can have black coffee and I TRIED to drink it but it ended up down the drain where it belongs. I packed a thermos of GOOD coffee and a bagel with cream cheese, one sprite, my morning medicine and a 100 calorie cupcake just in case. I left early with my Ganky bag and got there at 8:30 in hopes that they might take me early. Nope... and the person who draws the blood wasn't there (jury duty) and the back-up person had a burglary. OK... the doctor asked me a bunch of questions and said there was nobody there to take my blood and I said, What now? I am not taking all this blood back home with me and I am hungry and NEED a cup of coffee. He said he could send me to a lab downstairs, did I want to do that and I said yes sir! Long story, a bit shorter... I got on I-285 at 10:30 drinking coffee eating bagels and singing a happy tune.
I stopped at the Mall just because I drove past it and bought a pair of shoes that I saw last week and hoped they were still there. They were and I bought them AND I had my favorite TCBY golden vanilla.
Then, I went to the Nursing Home to visit Alvin Wilkins and they had taken him to the hospital, so... I went there too. Now I am finally home and thankful to be here.
Turned out to be a great day even though it started out not so good:)
I made the parmesan potatoes this weekend and they were DElicious.
Love you!
Well, I didn't know Alvin was in the nursing home or hospital. That's sad. I'm sure he was happy to see your smiling face, as everyone always is. I knew you must be somewhere doing something important. I know I can always count on you each and every day to check in on me. I love you very much!
I'M GLAD TO HEAR YOU AND THE BOYS ARE FEELING BETTER.JUST HOLD ON TIGHT FOR THOSE BUMPS IN THE ROAD AND KEEP ON BLOGGIN.
